Pearls and Perfection Problems: October 2016

How Old: Twenty-three Months
Teeth: 16
Clothes: She is wearing mostly 24 month and 2T clothing. She can still do some 18 month dresses. I have been buying 2T for her new fall clothes. She is in size 4 diapers and 6 1/2 or 7 shoes.
Sleep: She is doing fantastic with sleep and is very predictable as long as I stay on her schedule. Night time is usually 8pm - 7am and nap 12-2:30 or 3. If she does get off of her schedule (which typically happens on Sundays due to church/lunch) she is more whiny and irritable.
Food: This past month her favorite foods have been: oranges, cheese, bacon, pasta, Chick-Fil-A, shrimp, cucumbers, and blueberries.
Her schedule give or take 30 minutes.

Emersyn's Highlights:

- She has started to really enjoy playing hide and go seek around the house. Many days when she hears the garage open and knows her daddy is home, she will say hide mama and run to find a hiding spot. (She still cannot be quiet in the spot though, so she is easy to find haha.)
- She had her first airplane ride in September to Turks and Caicos. She did great on the airplane ride (with the help of a few Mickey episodes and a bag full of books of course).
- She has learned how to say her full name (Emersyn Joy McDowell). She still calls her first name "Ese." We try to get her to say "Emersyn," but she doesn't want to. When we ask her if she wants us to call her "Emersyn," she will say "no, Ese."
- She also likes to say my full name "Erica Joy McDowell" and so when she says her daddy's name she calls him "Daniel Joy McDowell." She thinks since mommy and her both have Joy as a middle name that daddy does too :)
- She knows all about the Clemson paw and will say, "Go Clemps," but all in the sake of getting a good laugh from everyone around, anytime we tell her to say Go Tigers she will respond with, "Go Cows!" So at the first Clemson game this year she was saying, "Go Clemps Cows!"
- We bought her a potty this past month and she pee peed in it 2 times the day we brought it home, but has had no further interest in it since.

Emersyn Loves: taking care of her babies, "exercising," swinging, chicken dance song, her family and friends, helping mommy, paci/blankie, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, playing with her kitchen, reading books, listening to music, riding her bike
Emersyn Dislikes: getting her teeth brushed, loud sound of lawnmower/weedeater/pressure washer, having her mouth wiped
Emersyn is Learning to: use her feet to push herself in her "little coupe" car, identify all of her colors, count to 10 (skips some along the way), get her own water out of the refrigerator (not something we really want her to learn haha), identify and use some letters/sounds, help wash herself in the bathtub

We took a family day to Hendersonville on my birthday.

Family Trip to Turks and Caicos

They had a water park at the resort and Emersyn had a ball!! She was not afraid to slide!!

We laughed because everywhere we walked, Emersyn wanted to stop and smell the pretty flowers!

The Sesame Street characters were at the resort and did shows several nights. Emersyn loved them from a distance... but didn't want to be touched by them.
