TWO Years Old!

My sweet Emersyn!  How is it that 2 years flew by so fast right before our eyes, but at the same time it is hard to imagine life before you?  You are the best gift God has ever given to your daddy and me.  We will always make mistakes as parents, but we strive every day to raise you in a way that will be pleasing to God.

You have come such a long way since your last birthday!  You are now talking in sentences and can repeat just about any word or phrase that you hear.  You know many of your letters and can count to 10.  You can identify your colors and many of your shapes.  Beyond these things though, we are most proud of your heart and WHO you are.  You LOVE life and always have.  You are full of joy, have a wonderful attitude, truly care about others and their feelings, independent, aim to please, and give the best hugs, snuggles, and kisses.  We are thankful that you enjoy learning about God, reading your Bible, and praying.  You often hold us accountable if we forget to pray before meals or bedtime, and if anyone is sick or hurting you say, "pray mama."

You love taking care of your babies!!  You can spend hours with them simply feeding, changing their diapers, pushing them in the stroller, rocking them to sleep, and reading to them.  You are also mommy's little helper around the house.  Everything has a place for you and you do not like things out of their place.  You thrive on schedule, which is a blessing to us as parents because you are very easy when it comes to sleep routines.

Your laugh is the sweetest sound in the WHOLE WORLD and reminds me daily how very much the Lord loves me by blessing my life with you my sweet baby girl.  I will continue to pray that you will accept Jesus at a young age and have an unwavering faith, walking with Him daily.  I love you to the moon and back and more than all the fish in the sea!!  Happy 2nd Birthday to you :)

Daddy took pictures of you outside for your birthday invitation.  To say you love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Minnie Mouse would be an understatement, so of course your 2nd birthday was Minnie themed.

It was TERRIBLY windy that day :(  I had created this beautiful kids table... but the wind would not let me put it together.  Chairs are laying down to hold table cloth.  You still had a ball though!!

This is what the kids table was SUPPOSED to look like.  I had it set up in garage the night before... but the wind demolished it in 5 seconds :(

Birthday at Greenville Zoo with Your Friends
 Mimi and Emersyn

My college roommate Brantley and her daughter Charlotte (baby Jack was there too).

Baby Gabriel gets all the girls ;)

Emersyn and Grace (my college roommate Jennifer's daughter)

 Looking at the giraffe

Emersyn was more interested in riding in baby Gabe's seat than seeing all the animals

We had a fun morning!!  My mom, Emersyn, me, Jennifer's mom, Jennifer, Grace, Brantley, Charlotte, and her mom.  (Not pictured were baby Gabe and baby Jack.  Both were happy in their strollers).

 Feeding the animals

Emersyn did not getting close enough to the animals to feed them.  She was more concerned with how the feeding machine worked.

 Picnic lunch with friends

Celebrating Your Birthday with Stroller Roller Friends
We brought cupcakes and waters to share with our Stroller Roller class

Mommy and Daddy didn't pick you out a present for your birthday.  Instead, we took you to Toys R Us the afternoon of your birthday to let you pick out your present.  We told you to pick whatever you wanted.  You fell in love with this baby carrier and the smallest baby doll in the store.  You carried it through every aisle and said you did not want anything else.  It was really SWEET that you were not greedy at all.  I hope you always enjoy the simple things in life ;)

Your birthday night, Daddy, Mama, Gran Gran, and you all went to eat pizza outside in downtown Spartanburg and then finished with yummy ice cream at Hub City Scoops!!
