SURPRISE!!

On February 15, 2014 our lives changed more than we could have ever imagined.  We had spent the past 3 days and nights getting snowed in at my parents home (on purpose) and sledding at my grandparents all day making wonderful family memories.  See pictures below : )

Daniel and I at my parents home excited for no work and snow days!!  Little did we know there was a baby in my tummy : )

My cousin Drew and I sledding at MamaDoris and PaPa's home.

I had suspected that I could possibly be pregnant or that something was wrong with my body.  My last cycle was December 17th and on January 25th I took a pregnancy test that ended up being negative.  I had just decided that the stress and rush of Christmas along with our trip to the Florida Keys after Christmas had confused my body.  When the middle of February rolled around and mother nature still had not kicked in, I decided to test myself once again.  That February 15th Saturday morning, Daniel woke early to head into work and check on the golf course for a few hours after all the ice and snow.  As soon as he was out of the driveway, I threw on gym clothes and rushed to CVS to purchase a pregnancy test.  I am sure the employees thought I was stealing items from the store because I had it hidden in my white North Face jacket, praying that I would not run into any students or parents from my school.  I checked out without seeing anyone I knew and flew home.

I took the test and left the room for at least 10 minutes not really sure if I wanted to see the results.  I did not know how my reaction would be either way.  Daniel and I have always known children would be in our future if God was willing, but we had not exactly planned for them to come this early.   When I returned to the bathroom, I immediately noticed that God's plans were greater than ours as I saw the light pink line.  Of course I was instantly excited and ran to Party City to order pink and blue balloons.  I wanted to surprise Daniel when he returned from work!!  I set the balloons up in the kitchen so they would be the first thing he spotted when he opened the door.  He was thrilled and we hugged and cried a little and then decided to run to Babies R Us just to look around.

I called the doctor Monday morning and scheduled our first appointment for Friday, February 21st at 9am.  The receptionist asked when was the first day of my last cycle, and I told her December 17th.  She said I was probably around 10 weeks, so they would need to do an ultrasound as well at the first appointment.  From reading a bit online about the first trimester of pregnancy, I was thrilled when she said I was already 10 weeks, and I had not one ounce of sickness!!  Little did I know how things would soon change...
 The surprise waiting for Daniel!!

Daniel walks through the door and sees the surprise : )
 We are happy,
 happy, happy!!
